What is the career in photography?

Depending on the job, you’ll still need to put in plenty of hours of independent work, freelancing or even working for free to build up experience.

1- Forensic photographer

Of course, you’ll need more than just photography skills to get involved with forensics. Although at least three years of photography experience is generally required, you also need to take photography courses at a police academy or similar institution. An educational background in forensic science, criminology or law enforcement is a big plus, too.

2- Military photographer

Like anyone in the military, you have to be willing to move around the world and travel to far-flung places as a military photographer. Although you wouldn’t be a fighting soldier, you’d still be under the same military protocol as soldiers, which means wearing uniforms and obeying orders.

3- Photojournalist

To become a photojournalist, you often need to get a placement at a newspaper or magazine. That may require a long period of freelance work at first, as you network and develop a reputable portfolio. You’ll need to be active, social, and willing to submit your work for publication (or publish it yourself). Photojournalism means getting your work out there, so the more stories you track, photograph and publish

4- Nature photographer

Nature photography is all about getting out there and being a part of our natural world. When in nature working on our photography, it is helpful to entirely immerse ourselves in what we are doing. To do that, we need to practice the techniques needed to consistently produce quality images and research the locations that will appeal to each of us the most.

5- Fashion photographer

Fashion photographers work closely with models and fashion designers to conceptualize and shoot photos that showcase fashions as effectively as possible. Fashion photographers may be employed by fashion magazines, catalogs, advertising agencies or fashion houses.

6- Photo editor (also called Digital Imaging Editor)

Photo! Editor is powerful multifunctional software offering a complete set of image editing tools. It contains anything a digital camera owner might need to correct or enhance their photos. You will enjoy the ultimate convenience and professional approach provided by each of the tools.
